What's Up With Us?

1. Motherhood has taken over my life. Who knew that something so small would require so much attention and stuff??? One thing I recently bought Jack was the Fisher Price Rock 'N Play Sleeper. Let me just say: "Love it!".

Here is a picture of Jack all snuggled in his new sleeper.

When I find a great product I love to spread the word!

2. I have been feeling so guilty about not having my house decorated this year. I managed to get the tree out but that is the extent. It makes me feel not like myself. I kinda thought that decorating would be tough this year, and I was right, I just didn't realize how much it would bother me. I'm stuck in the middle of two very Christmas lite houses. I feel slightly ashamed but too tired to feel that way for long.

3. My sweet baby Jack is tongue-tied. I had no idea what that was when the nurse first told me but since then I have done much research and know that they have to cut a small piece of tissue under the tongue. Jack and I go tomorrow to meet with the ENT for the first time. I pray that the procedure can be done soon. I have inserted a picture I found online but this is exactly how my son's tongue looks just to give you an idea.

4. This Mama has been watching lots of tv while she rocks her baby.  In LOVE with the X-Factor. Carly Rose you really are A-Mazing! I've stayed caught up on General Hospital. Watching lots of Dr. Phil. My husband says I need to turn off the Dr. Phil. Not sure how he knows that I've been watching it maybe a little too much but he straight out called me on it. Television is awesome when it is 3 am and your child refuses to go to sleep.

5. I've signed up to participate in the Cara box swap over at Wifessionals. I've been wanting to do it the last few months but knew with a baby coming I could not guarantee anything.  Now that I feel a little more comfortable with the mommy role I signed up for this December. This month's theme is Sparkles! Doesn't that sound so fun? I'm really pumped about putting this box together.
Well readers this has been our life recently. It has been exhausting (motherhood is hard!) but it has also been very fulfilling. My dear husband is finishing up this semester of school and working. He is stressed to the max and hates that he is away from us so much. I'm ready for things to slow down for us. Having my blogging world helps to keep me sane. Have a blessed day!
:) Ashley

  1. Is the Rock and Play worth it? I've thought about getting one, but don't know if I can justify the extra money to hubby considering we have a bassinet and pack n play already...

  2. We have a bassinet and a pack n play but I went ahead and got the Rock N Play because of all of the great reviews. Jack was not resting well in either the bassinet or pack n play and I was desperate. He loves his rock n play sleeper. The only downside is that it doesn't rock itself. It is very simple to put together and I love how it folds up...very easy to travel with.

  3. Hi Ashley. being a mom is VERY busy. Your baby is beautiful!! Saw the tongue picture. My son almost had to have his frenulum clipped due to speech issues. The speech therapist thought his wasn't that bad and he was able to get help with just speech therapy (no clipping). I learned that it can also cause problems in feeding with babies. So better to be aware now. Hope all goes well with the ENT. BTW your items should be arriving soon! So happy that you won. www.thememorynest.com

    1. I'm very excited about my goodies arriving! I'm anxious to get started putting pages together. Jack got his frenulum clipped yesterday. I think it bothered me more than him. He is doing great! This mama is sure glad it is over.

    2. So glad everything went well. I am sure it was harder for you than him. Better now than when he is older. Hope you received your items! Make sure you share what you do - I would love to see!

  4. Hi Ashley! I'm your newest follower from the CHQ blog hop. Your little Jack is adorable. I remember that sweet time when they are so little. Enjoy every minute of it....they grow way too fast. Mine are 11 and 8. So glad the procedure went well. I'd love for you to come over and visit me at http://posedperfection.blogspot.com and maybe even follow me back. Have a great week!
    Blessings,

  5. I think my 8 kids lived in the swing...it is the old wind up kind that ticked with each rock....that is what worked for us...I am giving it to my daughter when she has her baby in April, that is crazy!

  6. I watched so much TV when Violet was first born, I watched a lot of Grey's Anatomy.

  7. Motherhood is hard. It's amazing how much time the little ones consume.
Don't beat yourself too bad for watching TV ~ I think we all lived permanently in front of the TV when our babies were just born :)

  10. Thanks ladies for stopping by. Reading all of your blog posts helps so much as I sit in the hospital still recovering from an abscess. I am excited to be expanding my blog and learning so much about all the great women out there in this fun blog world.

  11. When my daughter was born, I became a SAHM. I watch SO much tv now... I watched quite a bit before, but I was limited by time and I had to delete shows just because I didn't have time to see them. Now, I watch a LOT. I can't watch the many talent shows on TV. I think partially because I've been told that I should try out sometimes and I just don't want to. Oh well.
