It is crazy hard for me to believe that in 1 short month my itty bitty baby is going to be a whole year old. Looking back it seems I've always had him. It's been one heck of a year. My heart is full.
He loves looking at books which makes this librarian mama very happy. The one thing he absolutely hates is when you wipe his nose. Anything dealing with his nose makes him very angry. Even daycare says they have never met a kid who hates his nose wiped as much as Jack does.
He hates hats. Like really hates them. You will notice in the first picture below that I am holding his hand from pulling the hat off. I'm a little nervous that the cute birthday hat I bought him will never get worn. He gets seriously p'ed off if you put a hat on him. This picture was taken quickly. Later I put a Santa hat on him in Carters and he had a meltdown which resulted in us having to leave.
He is starting to eat a lot more solids. After dealing with the choking/gagging we are starting to make some real progress.
He now sticks his hand into his business every single time we change him. Poopy hands are not fun. It is nice when J is here so he can hold his hands while I take care of the cleaning.
Here he is trying to pull this hat off. It is seriously so cute. Man I wish he would wear hats.
Jack hasn't used a pacifier in many months. This monkey here is Frank and he has rediscovered him. I think mainly so he can use him as a chew toy. Jack and Frank have been reunited.
No actual steps yet. He will stand on his own for a long period of time but when he wants to get somewhere he always falls and goes where he needs to go by crawling. He is one fast crawler. I don't think it will be too much longer though. He'll get there when he is ready. I figure as long as he can't walk then he can be my little baby.
Once they can walk, it's all over...trust me :-) Have you tried giving him a toy to distract him while you're changing diapers? This has been a lifesaver with both kids for me.

ReplyDeleteViolet loves her pacifiers so much, but she uses them more as a chew toy now for teething. I bet that's what Jack is doing. V will keep bows in her hair but not headbands anymore. Her hats also have to be tied on if they are to stay on lol.
ReplyDeletedid he just stop wanting a binky or did you guys wean him off of it? I've always thought about it.. Kenz looovees hers so I can't imagine one day when we want to take it away.. Can't believe he's going to be a year old already!
ReplyDeleteAwww!!! What a big boy! Travis HATES getting his face wiped at all, whether it's his nose for boogers, or it's food on his face. He hates it and fights it and shakes his head like crazy! Silly boys. :P
