Seriously....Again?

On January 11 of 2013 I had surgery to remove stomach tissue from necrosis that I got from a c-section gone bad. August my wound area had finally closed up. For 6 weeks after the surgery I had to endure a wound vac which is the most painful thing I had to ever go through. The home health nurses would come three days a week to change the dressing and I would scream and cry. My dad would have to leave the house because he couldn't handle hearing me and my mom would hold Jack in the front room and just cry. We were forced to live with my parents during that time because Jeremy still had to work and I couldn't take care of Jack on my own.

Well like I said, in August it had finally closed up so no more. I thought things were finally looking up. Well at the beginning of December the area started really hurting again so I went to the doctor and he said there was a lot of scar tissue and that I would need surgery to have it cleaned up. The pain continued to get worse. Like really worse.

On Friday I noticed a quarter-sized knot to the side of the wound area. I showed my mom when she stopped by to visit. Well Tuesday it was really hurting so I had Jeremy come take a look and feel around and well that quarter sized knot had grown into the size of a baby's fist. I called the doctor right away. He gave me some low dose pain medicine and I go back Thursday for an ultrasound.

I'm starting to feel like this is happening all over again. I can't do it again. I just can't. I meet with a surgeon on the 10th but depending on the ultrasound I may be doing something different.

Please pray that we figure this thing out. I really want 2014 to a good and healthy year.

The awful wound vac....wouldn't wish this thing on anyone.
Imagine that thing being pulled out of your insides? Does. not. feel. good.

  2. I had abdominal surgery in april and the incision had to be reopened and cleaned out from the inside due to necrosis also...they were suggesting a wound vac to help it heal but instead I did it with this material that you pack in the wound called drawtex. It was amazing. it took time to close up but the drawtex absorbed everything really well and much quicker than my surgeon friend thought it would. you should ask about it if the wound has to be left open again.
